A while back you may have heard that Charleston Watkerkeeper's Cyrus Buffum was in the running for GQ's "Better Men Better World" contest.

Well the results have been tallied for the 122 contestents and Buffum is in the final five and is headed for the swank "Gentlemen's Ball" in New York on October 27.

If he wins he'll get a feature in GQ, $10,000 donated to his accredited charity of choice, and a $2,000 watch. Even if he doesn't win not only is he getting a trip to New York City to attend the ball, but he'll also get $2,500 donated to the charity of his choice and a ESQ by Movado Bracer watch.

We'll let you know what happens.

If you're not familiar with Buffum's efforts, in 2008 he started the Charleston chapter of Waterkeeper International to act as watchdog to our local water issues.
