Oyster shell recycling now available in Myrtle Beach

An eighth oyster shell recycling location has been added to Horry and Georgetown counties and it's right in our backyard.  You can now recycle your shells behind the old NASCAR Cafe on 21st Avenue North in Myrtle Beach.

Recycled oyster shells help replenish and cultivate new oyster beds, build habitats for other creatures, and battle erosion. Surprisingly, South Carolina, currently, has to purchase shells from out-of-state processors.

For more information about the benefits of oyster shell recycling, check out this great SCDNR topic page. It also includes a full list of additional oyster shell recycling locations.
