Scientists search for clues on cause of bottlenose dolphin deaths
Image by Flickr user Will Volk This one's still in good health, but you get the idea.
A spat of dead bottlenose dolphins washing ashore from Fripp Island to Isle of Palms in the last month has drawn the attention of scientists as they try to figure out why.
The best guess is the cold weather — but to stop at that robs you of a nice narrative put together by The Post and Courier's Bo Petersen regarding how scientists do their necropsy.
May not be the best way to start off the day, but it's interesting.
