It was a dream come true when the call came in: Charleston County has been named EMS magazine's Paid EMS Service of the Year, a national award given annually for outstanding achievement.

The award recognizes EMS agencies that go above and beyond what's expected of them, and judges from the magazine voted Charleston's squad as the top dogs.
