Bus fire inaugurates new Cane Bay High School for 25 kids

An aging school bus ferrying students to the brand new Cane Bay High School broke down this morning and caught on fire around 6:30. No one was injured.

The event brings South Carolina's aging bus fleet back in the news once again. 103 of the new busses that were to replace the aging fleet got axed back in May.

It would appear that the engine caught on fire, leading to visible flames.

Head over to The Post and Courier for a solid write-up and contributed photo of the flaming bus. Live 5 News offers a story about how school busses are inspected and what the cause may have been.
