Lakewood Camping Resort was named the Best Campground and RV Park in South Carolina by OfficialBestOf.com, the second Myrtle Beach feature in the state. 

We recently reported that the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel was the winner of the OfficialBestOf.com Best Scenic Experience of South Carolina.  Also on that list was Lakewood Camping Resort, located on Highway 17 Business between Myrtle Beach State Park and 544.  Founded in 1959 by Carl and Marion Perry, the campground continues to be owned by the Perry family and has led to the formation of the Lakewood Campground Ministry.

This isn't the first prestigious award for Lakewood.  For the 2010-2011 season, they received the National Mega RV Park of the Year award.  In 2011, they were awarded the Plan-It Green Award by the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) for their green initiatives, which included educating guests and being eco-friendly.  You can read more about that award on the Lakewood Camping Resort site here.
