New video illustrates risks of sea level rise to Charleston

Charleston's sea level has risen about a foot over the last century, and is expected to rise some two more feet over the next century. All that on our shoreline that once extended miles further out.

To that end, The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy developed a new video, Rising Seas: Challenges and Opportunities for the Lowcountry, that aims to illustrate the risks to our state if that trend continues or excellerates.

The doomsday-like scenario they illustrate is certainly a ways off, but smaller changes could have smaller, less dramatic effects. And don't we already have enough trouble staying dry in Charleston?
