Two kayakers go missing near Mount Pleasant (Update: Safe)

Update: NBC News 2 writes that the two missing kayakers were found safe and that they blame the confusion on cell phones that died.

First reporting: Coast Guard crews are searching for two missing kayakers that went missing approximately seven-miles north of Mount Pleasant on Saturday.

The two kayakers are Chelle Sidden and Windy Watson.

Search and rescue controllers at Coast Guard Sector Charleston were notified at approximately 7:30 p.m., Saturday from a family member when Sidden and Watson did not arrive in Caper's Island at 5 p.m., as expected.

Searching for Sidden and Watson are rescue crews from Coast Guard Air Facility Charleston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter and a small response boat.
