Profiling the rekindled North Charleston smoking ban debate

Update: The smoking ban was rejected.
With Charleston County voting to ban smoking in the unincorporated areas of the county, it looks likely that the debate will heat up around a rekindled North Charleston smoking ban.
In 2008 the then council shot it down 6-4.
But now a draft ordinance is once again in the works, and five council member seats have changed hands.
The Charleston City Paper's Paul Bowers has tuned in to the debate and offers a profile of the mindsets invloved, noting that the persuasive Mayor Keith Summey still says a smoking ban is too much government involvement.
