South Carolina ranks last in economic opportunity

In a joint project by Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania called The States Project, South Carolina has ranked dead last in economic opportunity

According to The States Project, "Economic Opportunity is determined by using a constructed variable which includes: unemployment rate, median household income, and income mobility."

Additionally, South Carolina ranked terribly in two other categories, Health and Wellness (45th) and Educational Achievement (41st). When it comes to Economic Opportunity and Educational Achievement Massachusetts leads the way. Mass ranks second behind Hawaii in Health and Wellness.
