Port Royal in a tiff over port's asking price

There's a fuss down the road in Port Royal (near Hilton Head/Beaufort) about their now-closed port.

An appraisal commissioned by the South Carolina Ports Authority has put the price tag at $27 million, and locals are saying it will never sell for that.

The Beaufort Gazette reports, in part:
The South Carolina General Assembly ordered the ports authority to sell the 316-acre port property by Dec. 31, 2006. It is still on the market, and there are no offers on the table.

Man, no matter where you go the Ports Authority just doesn't seem to get any love.
