Early voting gets push in S.C.

Read more stories on this subject in our election topic page.After yesterday's horribly long waits, I'm thrilled to hear that S.C. Rep. Jim Clyburn will push to bring early voting to South Carolina.

Update November 7: Brian Hicks at The Post and Courier rather likes the idea, but notes that the idea has had trouble making it through the state's Legislature in the past. Go read his piece.

Update November 9: The Charleston City Paper chimes in with their own voice on the issue. The note that if the state allowed early voting, the need to say why you're voting early would be eliminated and greatly speed up the process.

And even The State is discussing the advantages of early voting. It looks like support could be building for the idea. They note that nearly 13% of S.C.'s voters voted absentee this year.
