House takes on Sanford budget vetoes

The state House of Representatives overrode several of Gov. Mark Sanford's 69 budget vetoes, reinstating several proposals that would have effects here in the Lowcountry.

Among the projects saved was $2.4 million for a high-speed data network between Clemson, MUSC, and USC. The House upheld a veto on money for a tourism program as the College of Charleston, however.

There are still several vetoes left for lawmakers to consider, and they plan to reconvene Tuesday to discuss those.
