Let's see how quickly we can break this down.

The chatter is, as expected, that the field was crowded with so many GOP candidates there will be a heavy runoff day in just two weeks and that this was a bad night for incumbents and experienced politicians. Still, many incumbents didn't face opposition.

• In the governor's race Democrat Sheheen locked it up while Republicans ousted Henry McMaster and Andre Bauer but still have to decide between Nikki Haley and Gresham Barrett in a runoff on Tuesday, June 22. I suggest The State for more info.
• In the attorney general race for McMaster's vacated seat, Matthew Richardson took the Democrat nod, while Leighton Lord and Alan Wilson are headed to a runoff. The State for more.
• In the lieutenant governor's race for Bauer's vacated seat, Democrat Ashley Cooper is in and GOPers Ken Ard and Bill Connor are in a runoff. Here's an Associated Press report.
• Incumbent Comptroller General Richard Eckstrom held onto his party's favor and will face Democrat Robert Barber. Another Associated Press report.
• For the state superintendent of education, Frank Holleman took the Democratic nod and Republicans Mick Zais and Elizabeth Moffly area headed to a runoff. I'll suggest The Post and Courier for more.
• In the U.S House 6th District, Democrat incumbent Jim Clyburn got an easy nod and his GOP rivals are headed for a runoff. I'll suggest The Post and Courier for more.

In the Charleston area

• Lots of upsets for Statehouse seats, and two incumbents likely won't be back on the ballot in November. Head to The Post and Courier to see what's up.

In Charleston County

• In the race for city council's two open seats, two Republicans got a nod but a pair of Democrats are headed for a runoff. I'll suggest The Post and Courier for more.

In Dorchester County

• An incumbent upset in the race for District 7, but the District 3 Democrat incumbent held on and will watch his Republican rivals head for a runoff. The Post and Courier has a nice post on this one.

In Berkeley County

• The county supervisor job faces no Democrat interest but no GOPer hit 50% of the vote, so it'll be a runoff between retiring U.S. Rep. Henry Brown and incumbent Dan Davis. I'll suggest The Post and Courier for more.
