New James Island mayor Woolsey sworn in, old mayor Clark pouts

James Island's newly elected mayor, Bill Woolsey, was sworn in yesterday in front of a standing-room only crowd in Town Hall.

The swearing in ceremony, originally scheduled for August 31st, got pushed up because "someone" was goig to be out of town. However, outgoing mayor Mary Clark said afterward that the swearing-in was timed to ruin her birthday and a party she planned to throw Thursday for the town staff.

Both Woolsey and Clark have been taking every opportunity to spout cheap shots at one another, so we'll just go ahead and add this ruined birthday party to the mix.

The Post and Courier has the article along with instances of even more beef that took place between Woolsey and Clark following the swearing in ceremony.
