McCain's strength in South Carolina has reemerged in recent polls, with McCain leading Obama 53% to 40%, and some 78% to 15% with S.C. whites.

Those white numbers make it extremely difficult to make a go of this state [for Obama]. Perhaps that's why the Obama campaign talks more about Georgia than they do about South Carolina.
