Scarborough loses appeal for a revote

Update December 8: FITSNews is reporting that Scarborough could make a decision on whether or not to appeal the ruling by tomorrow.

First reporting: The State Election Commission has denied incumbent Wallace Scarborough's challenge on the outcome of the S.C. House Seat race for James Island and Folly Beach.

Scarborough lost his seat on November 4 to Peterson Hutto by a 211 vote margin -- so Scarborough challenged, saying many votes that were cast were invalid, and there should be a re-vote. It's a charge that Democrats fiercely denied.

Scarborough has 10 days to appeal the decision -- an act that seems probable.
