Upper King Street way back in 2005.

Development, revelers, restaurants, more: Profiling the Upper King boom

King Street above Calhoun Street has been a hot spot in Charleston for years now, but now a move by the parent company of The Post and Courier, Evening Post Industries, to develop a 12-acre Courier Square development at Meeting and Columbus Streets seems to be drawing new attention to the district.

And at least no small part that attention is coming from The Post and Courier.

In Sunday's edition the paper has published a series of articles profiling the changing face of the district and its impact on the longtime businesses and residents, and the surrounding neighborhoods.

The paper's articles, linked for your perusal:

Courier Square itself only sees a brief mention in the article, and no mention of last week's Monday hearing of the project. The design has been sent back for tweaks, but project leaders remain hopeful of phase one construction in fall 2014.
