It looks like there are some big changes coming for the local ESPN radio station and there will be an new sports radio station, as well.

On Monday, March 5, 2012, local ES-PN radio will make the move to a new set of call letters on that radio dial, WSEA-FM 100.3. Mostly the schedule for ESPN radio won't change, “Mike and Mike in the Morning” will still start the day off at 6 a.m. and most of the day's schedule will stay the same. However, according to Radio-Info.com:

Cumulus transfers the ESPN-based "Team" format from its Class A signal at 93.9 (WJXY) to the more powerful Class C3 signal at 100.3 (WSEA). That bumps CHR "i100FM" WSEA of its frequency. Most of the "Team" programming will transfer to 100.3, but Cumulus has a twist: it's breaking up the AM/FM "Team" simulcast" that involves WHSC (1050), and giving the Conway, SC-licensed AM its own identity as "Fox Sports Radio 1050."

Currently The Dan Patrick Show is broadcast locally on a delay, but will now be live on the newly branded Fox Sports Radio from 9 a.m. until noon.  Also on the move to the new Fox Sports Radio 1050 is the Myrtle Beach Pelicans radio broadcast and, "70% of the baseball games of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks will air on 1050"

Head on over to The Sun News for their full write-up with some details on the Carolina Panthers radio broadcast, as well as what some local high school football coaches think about the news.
