Grand Strand Ice Management is looking into the feasibility and usability of an ice rink in the Grand Strand and they want your input.

Sports tourism has become a hot topic in Myrtle Beach with the Pelicans, expanded events schedule at Myrtle Beach Speedway, the South Carolina Warriors, expansion of the Ripken Experience, construction of the North Myrtle Beach Sports Park, and additional fields and amenities being added to the sports complex at Grand Park in the Market Common. Add to the list a potential ice rink.

Steve Elias, Jr. was recently interviewed by the Sun News about Grand Strand Ice Management (GSIM) and how an ice rink would be used.  He talks about hockey, figure skating, curling, and more, saying that the nearest facilities are in Wilmington and North Charleston.  You can read the full story and interview here.

If you're interested in voicing your option, GSIM is conducting an online survey gauging interest and use. They're also looking for investors.  You can access that also, as well as a presentation about the project on their site.
