A different accident where a man's boat hit a day-marker.The navigational markers are often unlit, but reflective, and serve as a way to help boaters navigate around shallower areas.

Andrew Evans, 23, of Summerville, was one of four men aboard the 16-foot Key West boat that was returning to the landing around 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 27. It's thought that the fog contributed to the accident.

His death has some people calling for all the markers to be lit. To light each marker would cost around $800 a piece, there are thousands of such markers in the area.
