The spotlight is back on Ashley Phosphate's pedestrian problem after 17-year-old Brittany Hyde was struck while trying to cross at the Stall Road cross light.

There's seven lanes of traffic, but there's only 32 seconds to cross -- that's less than 5 seconds a lane.
The good news is that S.C. Department of Transportation officials are planning to lengthen that time today. A shame a broken pelvis and wrist had to come first.
