Buy Local Month kicks off today

Join Lowcountry Local First and fellow business and community members in supporting our local businesses during the holiday season.

Buy Local Month kicks off today, November 15th and continues until December 15th at participating local merchants. LLF challenges everyone to shift at least 10% of their purchasing to local businesses, or take the ultimate leap and commit to 100%.

So, why buy local? Shopping at a local business keeps three times the amount of money circulating back in the community. Local spots also offer better customer service and add so much character to the community.

This year, organizers have developed a "Buy Local Card" that for $20, gets you a variety of discounts and promotions all month long at various local clothing stores, restaurants, and other retailers like toy stores. Want to find a promotion near you? LLF has created a handy interactive map that plots the deals of the day for you. Check it out!

You'll be able to buy the card at participating local businesses.

For more info on Buy Local Month, both The Post and Courier and the Charleston City Paper have you covered.
