Improved cellular coverage in North Myrtle Beach will soon be a reality as the city OK'd the demolition of two water towers to make room for cellular towers.

Because of the third and newest North Myrtle Beach water tower the older two, located at 1807 Edge Drive and 708 41st South Avenue will be removed and the land leased to cellular carriers: Sprint, AT&T, HTC and T-Mobile. So, one may actually be able to make a call during next years Memorial Day Bike Fest.

Head on over to Carolina Live to read what the City of North Myrtle Beach'sPublic Information Officer, Pat Dowling has to say about the switch and there appears that their may be some small opposition to the change
