The Charleston County School Board laid out it's early plans for next year's cuts, downsizing and reductions ranging from custodial services to principal salaries.

To help fill the $28 million budget deficit, the board approved closing and reducing program costs up to $300,000, outsourcing the custodial staff based at each school), implementing school-based staff reductions and finding alternatives ways for schools to handle substitute teacher services.

Additional cuts were touched upon, but the board is still treading lightly around the ideas of cutting administrator salaries and requiring small schools to share a principal.
