The Charleston Fire Department rescued two dogs from a burning home in West Ashley this morning.

A fire broke out in the kitchen of the 2080 Piper Drive home at around 9:58 a.m. When firefighters arrived at the scene, no people were inside the home, but two family pets were.

Both dogs are expected to make a full recovery.

The Post and Courier has the story while Live 5 News has a brief video of one of the dogs after the heroic rescue.
