Charleston's port security program Project SeaHawk nationally praised

A port security initiative in Charleston that advocates law enforcement agencies sharing resources and information, Project SeaHawk, has become a national model of how local, state and federal authorities should cooperate in the interests of national security.

The program's future is in jeopardy, however, as the Department of Homeland Security is taking management from the Department of Justice in October.
