Since the bridge that connects George Bishop to Harrelson Boulevard and Bypass 17, traffic has increased on the parkway.

One resident felt that the intersection had become too dangerous and contacted the South Carolina Department of Transportation earlier this year. SCDOT responded to the complaint and conducted a study. The study revealed that the intersection was indeed dangerous and had higher than normal accidents, 21 in almost four years.
