After an unseasonably cool month of May, the dreaded heat and humidity has arrived in the Lowcountry.

Today's forecast is calling for sun with a high near 89. Mind you, add in humidity and the whole "real feel" factor and it's going to feel as though the outside temperature is actually well into the 90s.

The forecast for the next seven days is calling for much of the same high-80s, low-90s temperatures with no hint of rain on the horizon. Take a peep at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Detailed 7-day Forecast if you don't believe me.

Although these temperatures aren't considered "extreme heat" situations, it is still important to take the necessary precautions to avoid overheating. We've got plenty of helpful tips to dealing with an surviving high heat temperatures; be sure you check 'em out.
