Despite tough economic times putting a strain on people's wallets across the board, the Medical University of South Carolina closed out the 2010 fiscal year with a record setting $76.6 million in philanthropic donations.

The foundation’s total assets - both endowed and non-endowed - came in at an impressive $344 million at year's end.
