Police departments receiving $6 million stimulus boost

If it seems like there are more police officers patrolling the streets of both North Charleston and Charleston early next year, you're right.

Thanks to nearly $6 million from the federal stimulus fund, the departments will be able to pay for of the salaries and benefits of the new officers for up to three years. New cars and equipments are also in the budget.
