Potential school bus driver strike continues standstill
An absence of progress continues to hinder negotiations between Charleston County and Dorchester 2 school bus drivers, Teamsters Local 509, and their employer, Durham School Services.
As of January 30, no now information has been released from either side and school officials say that school busses should be driving their regular routes. However, the drivers have authorized their union leaders to call a strike.
The contract negotiations between Teamsters Local 509 and Durham School Services have been going on since last summer, with the biggest disagreements revolving around drivers' pay and benefits.
