A massive winter storm with a potentially deadly path of heavy snow and ice is rolling eastward toward the coast and the Lowcountry is expected to feel some of its effects.

Luckily, temperatures here are going to be well above freezing, but forecasters are predicting gusty winds, some showers and thundershowers, cooler weather and a slim chance for tornados in parts of the South. Thunderstorms are likely Wednesday morning and rain paired with cooler temperatures are expected to linger through Saturday.

The Post and Courier has a precautionary post on the upcoming weather system and here's a link to the National Weather Service's forecast calling for rain, rain and more rain.
