SCHP targeting back gate work zone

It's a bit surprising that anyone can speed through the congestion that already existed even before the lane closures.
Regardless, South Carolina Highway Patrol will be paying extra attention to speeders in the construction area at the back gate for the former air force base. They have already lowered the speed limit to 45 miles per hour and because it is a S.C. Department of Transportation work zone, speeders can expect heavier fines on their citations. It's still a bit of a mystery why we are starting construction in the hottest and busiest time of the year. But the end result will probably be worth it.
