The Charleston International Airport has always been a breeze to handle, from baggage check-in to security screening. But according to the head honchos at the Transportation Security Administration, high tech upgrades in the security field are coming.

Plans were hashed out at the security conference held in North Charleston yesterday and include using a "layered strategy" that includes such measures as bomb appraisal, behavioral detection officers, advanced screening methods and hardened cockpit doors on planes.

Advanced image technology machines are also on the way. Predicted to be in place by 2011, these machines will take full body x-rays of each passenger.
