USC bringing historic South Carolina newspapers to the world's fingertips

The University of South Carolina is doing both history buffs and curious souls alike a big favor with their new Digital Newspaper Project.
Read more stories on this subject in our library topic page.The project will transfer 15 to 18 old newspapers from 1860 to 1922 to an online archive. Don't get too excited yet though, the first phase of the project won't be up and running until 2011.
