North Charleston Presents Holiday Children’s Theatre Performance on December 6

The City of North Charleston’s Cultural Arts Department is pleased to offer a wonderful holiday Children’s Theatre performance at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center from 10:00-11:00am on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Florida based theatre group Atlantic Coast Theatre for Youth will present A Beatrix Potter Holiday, featuring a collection of tales by the beloved children’s author. The program is appropriate for all ages, but best suited for grades K-5. Schools, daycares, community groups, families, and individuals are welcome to attend. Tickets are $2 per child with accompanying adults admitted at no charge. Parking is free.

In A Beatrix Potter Holiday, famous children’s author Beatrix Potter arrives to entertain the guests at a holiday party.  Stories such as The Tailor of Gloucester and The Rabbit’s Christmas Party come to life on the stage with the help of the audience and Beatrix’s Uncle Henry. Her most famous character, Peter Rabbit, may even surprise the guests with an appearance.  The production combines literature, music, theatre, character education, and audience participation.

Husband and wife team, Don & Noel Gruel founded Atlantic Coast Theatre for Youth in the summer of 1995. With their mission of bringing the art of theatre to children and families, Don and Noel tour throughout the U.S. presenting their creativity to performing arts centers, schools, libraries, museums, and festivals. Each season Atlantic Coast Theatre for Youth produces five to seven original shows and gives over 250 performances annually for more than 70,000 audience members.
