North Charleston Presents Summer Children’s Theatre Performances

The City of North Charleston’s Cultural Arts Department is pleased to offer two Summer Children’s Theatre programs this year with two showings per production. First is The Wagsters: World Class Magic and Illusion on Friday, June 17, with a 10:00-11:00am showing at Northwoods Park & Recreations Center, located at 8348 Greenridge Road, followed by a 2:00-3:00pm showing at the Felix C. Davis Community Center, located at 4800 Park Circle. On Friday, July 22, African Acrobats will present an energetic shows that will captivate all ages at the Danny Jones Recreation Center, located at 1455 Monitor Street, from 10:00-11:00am and 2:00-3:00pm. Both Summer Children’s Theatre programs are appropriate for all ages and groups, families, and individuals are welcome to attend. Tickets for each performance are $2 per child with accompanying adults admitted at no charge. Parking is free. Groups of 10 or more are asked to reserve space. Considered the “new” classical illusionists, husband and wife team Brandon and Hannah Lynne Wagster will offer an exciting presentation of classical magic with a fresh, modern approach in their stage show The Wagsters: World Class Magic and Illusion.Brandon Wagster is said to be one of the countries rising stars of magic. He has received 10 regional, national, and international magic awards and has earned praise from some of the world’s top magicians like Criss Angel, Jeff McBride, and Lance Burton. Hannah Lynne Wagster has been Brandon’s leading lady since 2010 and is an indispensable part of the show. With over 20 years of theatrical & illusionary training combined, The Wagsters are sure to mystify people of all ages with their dynamic, high-energy magic performance combining stage illusions, hilarious comedy, audience interaction, and pure sleight of hand.

Direct from Kenya, the African Acrobats combine culture with physicality and skill to present an extremely high energy and captivating program. The group will perform acrobatics, limbo, rope jumping, balancing, juggling, human pyramid, hoop diving, and more. Audiences of all ages are sure to be amazed.

The North Charleston Summer Children’s Theatre Series is an annual program offered by the City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Department.
