North Strand Helping Hand to accept applications for holiday assistance

North Strand Helping Hand (NSHH) will be accepting applications for holiday assistance October 3 -14 at their location on Long Bay Road in Longs, S.C.

Assistance provided may include Thanksgiving meals, Christmas meals, and toys for young children in need. All applicants who need a “helping hand” during the holidays must qualify under the USDA income eligibility guidelines. Applications will be accepted during normal business hours.

Applicants are asked to bring picture identification, social security cards for family members, proof of residency within the North Strand Helping Hand’s service area, and income verification.

On a daily basis, the organization provides food, clothing and some financial assistance to individuals in need in the North Strand area. NSHH serves the communities of Longs, North Myrtle Beach, Little River and the southeast section of Loris.

Community members who are interested in adopting families in need are encouraged to contact NSHH beginning the week of October 24 at 843-399-0862. NSHH is a United Way agency that is supported by 10 North Strand area churches.
