Charleston: A city where you have to live most of the year?

Ever wonder about how many downtown homes actually have people that live there most of the year?

Well, you're not alone. Many of Charleston's year-round residents have been concerned that one day Charleston would consist of little more than second or third homes. A situation that would dry up local shopping and worship services.

So the solution proposed by many, is affixing perpetual rules to their properties that require homeowners to live in their Charleston homes for the majority of the year.

It's a peculiar idea that has many stumbling points, and The Post and Courier's Robert Behre has written about it in detail.

Go take a read.
