North Charleston takes initial step toward safer taxi service

The City of North Charleston pushed forward in their continuing effort to enforce a standard of clean cabs, meters and drivers with clean police records yesterday.

The City Council passed a first reading of a change in regulations covering taxicab drivers that could ban anyone with a felony conviction in the last five years from being licensed.
