Jack Hunter, a conservative columnist for Charleston City Paper, lambasts the city's recent decision to ban drinking in the parking lot during the Dave Matthews Band show at the Joe in his morning radio show on WTMA. This isn't the first time that the recent crackdown on public drinking has caused public outcry. When patrons of the Spring Design Walk on Upper King faced fines for drinking on the street back in April, a lot of people were less than thrilled at the turn of events. And last year, the city told fans at Citadel football games that all drinking in the parking lot had to end by two hours after the game is over.
