Making a case to use I-526 funds for Boeing roads, rail, or other needed Charleston infastructure

Update April 14: The Charleston City Paper has filed a brief report and notes that the meeting to debate this idea kicks off at 4:15 today.

First reporting: While the unpopular I-526 plan for Johns and James Islands remains stalled, a case is emerging to request that (and get) the nearly half-billion in funding be used on other much-needed Charleston infrastructure.
The needs are plenty: A chocked infrastructure around the massive new Boeing plant in North Charleston, an on-the-drawing-board commuter rail, flooding in downtown...

That said, many municipalities are already eagerly eyeing the moneys.
