Today, The Post and Courier featured a shot of David Samios who had been spending hours cleaning the infamous "gum poles" at the corner of Market and East Bay streets.

I respect the City of Charleston's desire to have a clean tourist-frienldy environment. But is it really that bad?

Let Charleston have a little bit of grunge culture, and, besides, people aren't going to stop sticking their gum to this sticky pole. If you don't want gum on the those poles, well, then you better burry the power lines.

If you're new to the whole gum-pole debate, we've talked about it before over here.
