Bike fatality reminds of need for more concerted effort to accomodate

Talking about last weekend's fatal biking accident that killed Eduardo Gomez Ortiz, The Post and Courier has penned an opinion piece about the Charleston region's need to do more to plan for bikes.

With regular re-surfacing and widening of roads for more cars to increase safety and convenience of commuters, does it not make the same sense to do so for bikes?
