Stranded Isle of Palms whale was in poor health
A pygmy whale that washed up on Isle of Palms late last month had a number of serious problems including, hemorrhaging, congested lungs, and heavy parasite infestation.
There's been a rash of nine stranding of twice-man sized whales from Florida to North Carolina, and scientists are examining the animals for clues to the health of the oceans.
Tissue sample from another pygmy whale that washed up on Folly are being sent to the lab for examination.
