Charleston's quaintness is its own worst enemy

One of the things people love most about Charleston is how a trip downtown feels like a trip back in time with narrow streets and architecture before advertising.

One of the things people hate most about Charleston is trying to figure out where they're going. 

And with that notion in mind Greg Hambrick has put together a nice profile of the many challenges that this presents to restaurants, businesses, arenas, and yes, even, public bathrooms. His piece even has a good mind boggling quote about how we shouldn't have signs that "capture your attention."
