Elected mayor in December of 1975, this year marks Joe Riley's 35th year in office as the Mayor of Charleston.
To mark his accomplishments and ability to stay in office, The State has done a nice profile of the man -- and some key differences between Riley and other mayors in South Carolina.
Hard to believe that Columbia's mayorship isn't a full-time job.
