Bachmann speaking at Yorktown on Friday, Perry heads to Columbia (update: Bachmann is back)

Update August 25:Minnesota congresswoman Michelle Bachmann is scheduled back in the Lowcountry this evening.

Bachmann will be attending tonight's night town hall meeting in North Charleston hosted by conservative Republican U.S. Rep. Tim Scott who represents the state’s 1st Congressional District.

Some big name candidates running in the 2012 presidential election will be cruising through South Carolina this week.

The Friday, Minnesota congresswoman Michelle Bachmann will be in the Lowcountry, making a stop at the U.S.S. Yorktown in Mount Pleasant. A tea party favorite, Bachmann just won the Iowa republican straw poll.

After announcing his candidacy for president in downtown Charleston this past Saturday, Texas Governor Rick Perry will be headlining a fundraiser in downtown Columbia on Friday. You can read all about his big announcement in this post from the weekend.
