Bills to prevent cell phone use while driving pick up momentum

Long in the works, a proposed ban on texting and/or all cell phone use while driving is picking up momentum in Columbia.
A measure to ban texting has already cleared some committees, and today House and Senate committees are expected to look into more measures on cell phone use and texting.
One of the big questions is whether to pass one bill to curtail both activities or separate bills for each. Bundling the two would likely make the bill much harder to pass.
